Andrew Quinn was an extraordinary young man with an extremely bright future that was tragically cut short. He was only 22 years old when he was struck and killed by an unidentified hit-and-run driver in mid-town Manhattan on March 9th, 2013.   He was a loving son, brother, and new uncle. He accomplished so much in his short 22 years.  His family could not have been more proud of him.

Andrew was the Parsippany Hills High School 2008 Senior Class President. While there, he was a stellar academic student, an all state saxophone player (top jazz sax player in the state of N.J.) and athlete.  He was a member of several championship marching bands, including the All States 2007 Champions. He was also on the track team, running high hurdles, performing the high jump, and throwing the javelin. He was the President of the Ski Club.  He was selected to participate in HOBY- a Hugh O'Brien leadership program - and went on to the HOBY World Conference in Washington, D.C. While in high school, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Mt. Tabor Fire Department. He also began teaching saxophone to younger students while still in high school (see the web site he built from scratch that has some samples of his playing here).  He  maintained many of his PHHS friends following graduation. He attended, excelled at, and graduated from The Hotel School at Cornell University, with concentrations in Hotel Administration, Finance and Real Estate Development. He was a member of the DU Fraternity - again creating many lasting friendships. While at Cornell, he championed a real estate team that competed with 11 other university real estate programs from around the world. Cornell took first place. Andrew was used to taking first place in just about all he endeavored to do - always exceeding expectations. Andrew studied abroad in China, France, Italy, Hong Kong and was part of a ski resort management program in the French Alps. He was an expert skier both on snow and in the water. He loved taking ski trips and other vacation trips with his brother and sisters. Although Andrew was at least eight years younger than his siblings, he was mature beyond his years. They were inseparable. He was the product of the best influences and teachings of his older siblings. Regardless of the activity, they loved having fun together - a bond that was so gratifying to his parents. Following graduation from Cornell in 2012 as a top student, he had many job offers. He sought and landed a coveted job in large scale commercial real estate development with Tishman Realty in New York City - a challenging and rewarding job he loved. He was part of a team working on some of the largest commercial real estate projects in the country - including a Chicago waterfront project and a redesigned Miami Civic Center - complete with hotels and other commercial and residential development - effectively reshaping the cityscape. Andrew was a parents' dream - loving, generous, and destined for success - all with a warm friendly personality and a great sense of humor.
